Quality Assurance

Quality, responsibility, authority and organization are duly described in the Quality Manual. The Shipyard is certified by Bureau Veritas for ISO 9001:2000 standard. Testing procedures are described in the Quality Manual with details in specific additional procedures.

Inspections and Test Plan is also available for the projects as per contracts. This Inspection and Test Plan is very elaborate and is a comprehensive document. The Shipyard is following the International Association of Classification Societies Quality Standard approved by all Major Classification Societies.

International Classifications

The shipyard has constructed vessels according to the stringent requirements of international classification societies like Bureau Veritas – France, The American Bureau of Shipping, GL,DNV, NKK, for clients at various port trusts, etc.

The shipyard based on its past performance has built up a reputation for a high degree of professionalism, technical excellence, and a high standard of workmanship on the vessels constructed by them.

Separate checks are made by the shipyard’s own quality control cell at various stages of construction i.e. plate preparation, units assembly erection and fitting out in the order to ensure that the materials and workmanship are of the highest quality.

Since the quality of welding is one of the critical determinants in shipbuilding, special care is taken by the quality control cell of the yard to ensure that the welding conforms to the best shipbuilding standards. Facilities for radiography are available in house.

X-ray technician ensures the quality of workmanship. The test has been set up after receipt of approval from various international classification societies.
